New for AFF 2010 is a series of personal appearances and live Q&As by South African adventurer Riaan Manser at six screenings around the country.  Riaan Manser, who cycled 37,000km round the coastline of Africa and sea-kayaked  5000km around Madagascar, will screen two film shorts of his exploits, talk about his epic adventure and then take questions from the audience. Tickets to these events are going to be in short supply so book early and avoid disappointment - these live Q+A evenings even include a complimentary bottle of Windhoek Lager for every attendee over 18 years!

Among the confirmed films for this year are Fly or Die (Action Adventure evening), the UK premiere of a brand new episode from Sender Films' First Ascent series, in which aerial samurai Dean Potter combines free solo climbing and BASE jumping to create the most outrageous and visionary style of climbing ever conceived; Australis: An Antarctic Ski Odyssey (High Altitude Adventure evening) which follows free-ski mountaineers on a 21st Century expedition sailing along the infamous Drake Passage from Argentina to Antarctica in pursuit of unclimbed summits and first descents; Madagascar Maverick (Elemental Adventure evening ),  a film by Riaan Manser (star of the talker screenings) who becomes the first man to circumnavigate Madagascar by kayak on a journey covering 5,000km in eleven months. The film sees him conquer extreme loneliness whilst tackling treacherous conditions and close encounters with pirates, humpback whales, giant leatherback turtles and sharks.
